2024-2025 Recap - Ski Destinations

A Year Full of Skiing

Skiing has always been one of my favorite ways to spend winter, and this past year, I had the chance to visit some incredible resorts. Each trip was a new adventure—whether it was tackling fresh powder out West for the first time or enjoying a quick day on the slopes close to home. Below are some of the highlights from my ski season, including my experiences at each resort, some of my favorite moments, and a video recap of my spring break trip to Breckenridge and Keystone!

My first ever gondola ride in Jackson Hole, Wyoming!

Massanutten, VA

Massanutten holds a special place in my heart because I learned how to ski here when I was younger. It was a leading factor for my choice of attending JMU, since it’s so close, making it the perfect spot for a spontaneous ski day. This year, it was even more exciting because they have added a few new runs since the last time I visited. Having more trails to explore made a noticeable difference, and the resort continues to improve each season. The terrain park at Massanutten is always fun to check out, even if I’m not hitting the biggest jumps. Plus, for a quick ski fix without a long drive, this place is unbeatable.

Snowshoe has always been my go-to spot for a fun weekend ski trip, and this season was no exception. The resort offers some of the best skiing in the Southeast, with a great mix of long groomers, tree runs, and even some solid steeps for East Coast standards. One of my favorite parts of Snowshoe is the village—it has such a cool, ski-town vibe, and nothing beats warming up with hot chocolate after a full day on the slopes.

Snowshoe, WV
Jackson Hole, WY

This trip was a dream come true—my first time skiing out West! From the moment I stepped off the iconic tram and saw the breathtaking views of the Tetons, I knew this was going to be a whole different level of skiing. One of the biggest highlights was standing at the top of Corbet’s Couloir. While I didn’t take the plunge this time, just being up there and seeing how massive it was in person was breathtaking. The runs here were long, steep, and full of fresh powder—something I wasn’t used to coming from the East Coast. After this trip, I was completely hooked on skiing out West and already planned my next adventure!

Breckenridge, CO

I spent two days skiing at Breckenridge, and it quickly became one of my favorite mountains. With five peaks and nearly 3,000 acres of terrain, it felt endless—every lift led to something new, and even after two full days, I had only scratched the surface. One of the most memorable moments of the trip was tackling a black diamond with moguls, which I had never completed before. The steep, uneven terrain was a real challenge, but by the time I reached the bottom, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment—one of those moments that reminded me why I love skiing so much. Breck has so much to offer, I already can’t wait to go back and explore even more!

Wintergreen, VA

Wintergreen is another East Coast favorite, and this trip didn’t disappoint. The mountain offers some of the best skiing in Virginia, with higher elevation and longer runs than most nearby resorts. One of my favorite things about Wintergreen is the incredible Blue Ridge Mountain views—you really can’t beat that scenery on a clear day. This trip was all about pushing myself on steeper terrain. I took on a few double black diamonds, which were definitely a challenge but super rewarding. It’s always fun to see how much my skiing improves each season, and this trip was a great confidence booster!

Keystone, CO

Keystone was an incredible experience, with one of the biggest snowstorms I’ve ever skied in. The fresh powder completely transformed the mountain, making each run feel smooth and effortless. One of the highlights was skiing through the trees, where the untouched snow was even deeper, creating the perfect conditions for an unforgettable day on the slopes. Beyond the skiing itself, the resort had a great atmosphere, offering a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation. The combination of well-groomed trails and fresh snowfall made Keystone a true standout and an excellent way to wrap up my Colorado ski trip.
